The Director of Demand Forecasting will lead the strategic planning, development, and execution of demand forecasting for our European Union (EU) biopharmaceutical client partner products. This role is responsible for ensuring all forecasts are accurate, robust, data-driven and supportive of business and operational planning initiatives.
As the forecasting lead for clients, the Director will collaborate across Syneos Health cross‑functional teams, including commercial, market access, marketing, finance, and supply chain to guide critical business decisions, optimize inventory, and maximize client product revenue.
Key Responsibilities Strategic Planning
* Establish the process and tools for demand forecasting at the customer program level
* Lead the development and management of short and long‑range forecasting models for client partner products at the SKU and Market / Country level
* Support reporting to senior leadership and the customer regarding market trends, competitive intelligence, and product gross‑to‑net performance impacts
Modeling and Analytics
* Design, build, and maintain accurate, evidence‑based forecasting models and predictive methodologies aligned to the customer’s demand planning and supply chain methods
* Incorporate diverse data sources such as epidemiology, historical sales trends, market research findings, and promotional plans into forecasts
* Conduct scenario and sensitivity analysis to assess the impact of different market dynamics and strategic choices
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
* Serve as a primary liaison between Syneos Health and client partners to build alignment and consensus on demand forecasts
* Effectively communicate forecast assumptions, insights, and risks to stakeholders at all levels of the organization
* Act as the Demand Forecasting resource on customer‑facing programs
* Lead, mentor, and develop a team of demand forecasters and analysts as needed
* Manage resource allocation to ensure the forecast team is appropriately structured and staffed to achieve business objectives (as needed)
Qualifications
* Expertise in various forecasting methodologies (e.g., patient‑based forecasting, statistical modeling)
* Advanced modeling skills using MS Excel
* Strong analytical, problem‑solving, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
* Ability to communicate to senior leadership
Education
* Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as Business, Economics, Statistics, or Data Science is required
* MBA or advanced degree is preferred
Experience
* 10+ years of experience in demand forecasting and analytics within the biopharmaceutical industry
* At least 5 years in a leadership role defined as Manager or above
