Job Description
The Senior Environmental, Health and Safety Manager/Sr Manager is responsible for the HSE global team and the definition and execution of the HSE strategy for the company. The Senior Environmental, Health and Safety Manager/Sr Manager Engineer is responsible for implementing environmental health and safety policies on behalf of EFI Organization. The Senior Environmental, Health and Safety Engineer Manager/Sr Manager is in charge of following all company procedures and meeting all legal requirements for environmental health and safety standards. Another important activity is the analysis of existing and planned products, processes, equipment, and facilities to prevent injuries, property loss, and environmental impact.
Main Duties And Responsibilities
1. Definition and execution of the HSE strategy for the company
2. Management of the global HSE team
3. Ensure regular monitoring of compliance with laws on health, safety at work, and environmental protection
4. Ensure continuous improvement of health, safety, and environmental management in the company
5. Ensure the production and dissemination of all necessary information and documentation for legal compliance
6. Promote the corporate values and safety culture at all levels
7. Prepare documentation required for health, safety, and environmental regulations
8. Draft risk assessments, emergency, and evacuation plans for group companies
9. Regularly update documentation to comply with legal requirements
10. Identify prevention and protection measures needed
11. Conduct audits on shop floors to assess compliance and behavior
12. Organize health, safety, and environmental training for all employees
13. Collaborate with external consultants for training and investigations
14. Identify potential non-compliance issues and manage corrective actions
15. Organize mandatory courses for employees
16. Coordinate with medical professionals for employee health examinations
17. Verify conformity of new stores or premises during design stage
18. Collaborate with authorities on insurance and incident management
19. Define KPIs for HSE performance
20. Analyze KPIs such as accidents and absenteeism
21. Develop procedures and manuals for HSE improvements
22. Support foreign operations in legal compliance monitoring
23. Report on HSE management for audits and management review
24. Implement ergonomic analyses where necessary
25. Maintain relations with official bodies
26. Manage relations with third-party HSE companies
27. Participate in ESG actions related to HSE
Job Requirements
1. Engineer or related bachelor’s degree with Master in “Prevención en Riesgos Laborales” mandatory; courses in Ergonomics, Safety, and Health desirable
2. 3-5 years of experience in a similar industry and global environment mandatory
3. Knowledge of HSE regulations in Spain mandatory; experience in Italy, UK, Israel, Turkey, US valuable
4. Proficient in Microsoft Office
5. Experience with chemical plants handling toxic components valuable
6. Strong communication skills for cross-functional and cross-cultural environments
7. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, team leadership, and documentation experience
8. Fluent in Spanish and English
