Your Role Shape the future of our Toys or Pets category in Spain! As a Category Manager, you'll drive strategy, growth, and innovation on our marketplace by combining data-driven insights with strong commercial partnerships. You'll lead end-to-end category development, work closely with brands and sellers, and collaborate across marketing, traffic, and product teams to deliver exceptional customer experiences.
Main Responsibilities Develop and execute annual category strategies and operational plans for Toys or Pets, based on deep market understanding and performance analysis.
Analyze user demand, competition, and market trends to optimize product assortment and ensure sustainable supply through seller onboarding and negotiation (brands, distributors, retailers).
Segment sellers by potential and performance, and implement tailored growth plans covering product selection, PDP quality, pricing, inventory, search visibility, and promotional activities.
Drive demand and visibility through promotions, navigation optimization, and collaboration with internal and external traffic teams.
Lead the planning and execution of category marketing initiatives — including brand and product campaigns — in coordination with the marketing team, exploring new social-commerce models.
Define and manage cross-functional projects that create value for customers and scale business impact. Coordinate stakeholders, align resources, and ensure timely delivery.
Job Requirements Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field (an MBA is advantageous).
4–8 years of professional experience in category management within the Toys or Pets sector (on the brand or retail side), with strong understanding of the Spanish market, brand partnerships, omnichannel dynamics, distribution channels, consumer behavior, P&L management, and a proven track record in both strategic planning and operational execution.
Demonstrated expertise in e-commerce and marketplace operations, including product assortment strategy, Product Detail Page (PDP) optimization, seller store setup, promotional campaigns, traffic generation, and pricing strategies.
Solid experience building commercial relationships and negotiating with brands and senior stakeholders, along with knowledge of purchasing, sales, and supply chain processes in the category.
Proven ability to manage complex projects, align cross-functional resources, and lead diverse teams and stakeholders effectively.
Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with experience developing and managing advanced business models.
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), a collaborative mindset, adaptability, and the ability to perform well in fast-paced and evolving environments.
Capable of defining high-level strategy while also driving hands-on implementation.
Strong logical reasoning, structured problem-solving, and creative thinking to identify innovative solutions.
Experience in process automation and scaling operational workflows.
Organized, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering high-quality results.
Fluency in both English and Spanish at a professional business level.
