Key Responsibilities Design and refine theoretical models for laser cooling and control of metastable atomic beams. Tackle fundamental physics challenges associated with generating high-flux, cold neutral atom beams. Build and implement numerical simulations to validate theoretical approaches, incorporating practical engineering constraints. Develop robust simulation tools to support cross-functional teams. Partner with theory, simulation, and experimental groups on interdisciplinary projects. Create, maintain, and review high-quality code and technical documentation. Required Qualifications PhD in AMO Physics, Quantum Optics, or a related field. Strong background in laser cooling and manipulation of atoms. Direct experience with atom beams or supersonic sources. Proficiency in numerical simulation tools (Python, MATLAB, Julia, C++, or equivalent). Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to communicate complex concepts clearly.
