About the Business Unit
We help conceive, drive, and implement transport solutions for cities, regions, and asset owners/operators around the globe. From preparing the business case and advising on related issues – such as revenue, procurement, and environmental legislation – to delivering the completed infrastructure and maintaining it, our planning, engineering, environmental and management skills cover the whole project cycle. We play a major role in developing and delivering the Global Transport Sector Strategy.

Key Responsibilities and Duties
* Lead a team of drainage design engineers in the design of sustainable drainage infrastructure on prestigious projects.
* Contribute to innovative grey and blue‑green solutions and climate change resilience.
* Embrace and enhance digital drainage design delivery solutions.
* Lead a team of drainage engineers on prestigious projects across the world.
* Be responsible for the delivery of project(s), coordinating project team(s) to ensure excellent technical delivery within budget and programme.
* Produce and review engineering calculations, specifications, drawings and reports, proactively managing design risk to deliver constructable solutions.
* Represent the company in meetings, both virtually and in person, building strong relationships with our clients that will enhance our reputation and help secure further work.
* Deliver projects in close partnership with clients and contractors.
* Contribute to technical excellence and commercial success through forecasting and risk management, and the production of bids and proposals.
* Work to Mott MacDonald’s global standards and review Health, Safety and Welfare alongside environmental impact.
* Be present in our Madrid office a minimum of 3 days a week.
Candidate Specification
We are seeking a Senior or Principal Civil Engineer with a focus on drainage design to strengthen our technical teams and lead a team of global drainage engineers.
Essential
* Strong technical background in drainage design.
* Experience in working on projects in Spain.
* Proven ability to deliver complex technical projects, ensuring compliance with relevant quality assurance and technical standards and supporting the development of less experienced staff.
* Demonstrable experience in the management of small teams.
* Strong communication skills with experience in effective collaboration across internal multi‑disciplinary teams.
* Good understanding of designers’ responsibilities under Construction (Design and Management) Regulations.
Desirable
* Experience designing to the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges.
* Experience in asset management and prioritising maintenance activities.
* Able to travel to other offices and sites, as required.
* Experience in preparing successful bids in Spain and in undertaking client engagement.

Responsabilidades Clave Incluyen
* Contactar con posibles clientes españoles e identificar proyectos a desarrollar.
* Liderar un equipo de ingenieros de drenaje en proyectos prestigiosos a nivel mundial.
* Ser responsable de la entrega de proyectos, coordinando equipos para asegurar una excelente entrega técnica dentro del presupuesto y el programa.
* Elaborar y revisar cálculos, especificaciones, planos e informes, gestionando proactivamente los riesgos de diseño para ofrecer soluciones constructivas.
* Representar a la empresa en reuniones, tanto virtuales como presenciales, construyendo relaciones sólidas con nuestros clientes que mejoren nuestra reputación y ayuden a asegurar nuevos proyectos.
* Entregar proyectos en estrecha colaboración con clientes y constructoras.
* Contribuir a la excelencia técnica y al éxito comercial mediante previsiones, gestión de riesgos y elaboración de propuestas.
* Trabajar conforme a los estándares globales de Mott MacDonald y revisar aspectos de salud, seguridad y bienestar junto con el impacto ambiental.
* Estar presente en nuestra oficina de Madrid al menos 3 días a la semana.
Perfil del candidato
Buscamos un/a Ingeniero/a Civil (o ICCP o ITOP) Senior o Principal con experiencia en el diseño de drenaje para fortalecer nuestros equipos técnicos y liderar un equipo global de ingenieros.
Requisitos Esenciales
* Sólida experiencia técnica en diseño de drenaje.
* Experiencia en proyectos en España y trabajo demostrable con clientes españoles.
* Experiencia en preparación de propuestas exitosas en España.
* Capacidad demostrada para entregar proyectos técnicos complejos, asegurando el cumplimiento de estándares de calidad y técnicos relevantes, y apoyando el desarrollo de personal menos experimentado.
* Experiencia demostrable en gestión de equipos pequeños.
* Fuertes habilidades de comunicación y experiencia en colaboración efectiva con equipos multidisciplinarios.
* Buen conocimiento de material de prevención de riesgos laborales.
Deseable
* Experiencia en diseño conforme al Design Manual for Roads and Bridges.
* Experiencia en gestión de activos y priorización de actividades de mantenimiento.
* Disponibilidad para viajar a otras oficinas y obras, según se requiera.
