Your role and work environment:
We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic Non-Financial Risk (NFR) specialist to join our Non-Financial Risk Team of ING Spain. In the role of NFR Specialist, you will hierarchically report to the Head of NFR. ING is restructuring its processes, controls, and infrastructure to transform itself into a Digital Bank with the goal of end-to-end “straight through processing”. Non-Financial Risk Management uses sound principles of risk management to ensure that the quality of everything related to operational risk is within the risk appetite of the Bank, maintaining the control environment at an acceptable level following a risk-based approach (proportionate to its value and criticality).
The team will perform oversight over the global policies and best practice implementation in NFR functions and acts as local specialists to challenge the design and implementation of the NFR controls and advise the risk/control owners to implement the controls (if needed). Also, the teams support the risk identification and mitigation actions to help the bank address the risks into the risk appetite and report the NFRD score to ING Group. The NFR team provides direct NFR support to the senior management in ING Spain in the development and maintenance of the non-financial risk management framework (policy setting and advisory) with a focus on:

6. Information Technology Risks
7. Continuity and Operational Resilience Risk
8. Internal and External Fraud
Your key responsibilities:
As NFR Specialist, your role is to:
1. Be a trusted NFR advisor towards IT and Business management.
2. Support, challenge, and monitor NFR risk management processes and quality.
3. Participate and challenge in risk assessments on key strategic projects and programs.
4. Support the Business and IT management on issue identification, risk rating assessment, action definition, and follow up until issue solving.
5. Contribute to the development, maintenance, and rollout of the NFR Frameworks, Policies, Minimum Standards, and Procedures.
6. Perform Quality Assurance or deep dive reviews as part of our second line role.
7. Identify external/internal developments, initiatives, and threats. Translate these proactively into the risk strategy.
8. Monitor the design and effectiveness of controls.
9. Contribute to the identification of the impact of and the coordination of responses to law and regulatory changes, ECB reports, etc., and monitor the follow-up of the regulatory issue solving.
10. Support the Head of NFR with research, assessing the risk profile of the organization, and reporting to Senior Management.
11. Generate awareness related to risk management within the Organization.
12. Develop and maintain training modules and train the IT/business community and your Non-Financial Risk (NFR) colleagues.

1. Experience as an NFR specialist with at least 5 years.
2. University Degree or equivalent.
3. Professional education and multiple international certifications for risk management.
4. Experience in End-to-End processes analysis to identify and assess NFR risks, including root causes analysis.
5. Expertise in testing methodologies.
6. Collaboration skills and ability to work across both functional.
7. Sound risk criteria: ability to be firm when needed and show flexibility when possible.
8. Excellent analytical skills.
9. Fluent in English (written and spoken).
