Responsibilities
Include:
* Designing, modelling, and estimating climate-based economic scenarios that integrate climate risk factors and opportunities into traditional economic scenario frameworks.
* Analyzing impacts of climate-change policies (mitigation and adaptation) on economies, activities, and households.
* Analyzing biodiversity and natural capital, and their economic implications.

You have a proven track record of teamwork with applied economists across diverse geographies. You excel at structuring and presenting ideas, with strong oral and written communication skills in both Spanish and English, and you work proactively and independently. Specifically, you are:
* Skilled in applied economic and financial analysis using advanced quantitative methods and tools.
* Able to manage multiple objectives and meet tight deadlines.
* Proficient in writing clear, concise reports and crafting effective presentations.
* Results-oriented, delivering tangible outcomes.
* Experienced juggling multiple projects with defined timelines.
* Self-starter with initiative and autonomy—from data collection through to presenting results.
* Flexible and eager to innovate, embracing new projects and ways of working.
Requirements
* Strong data-handling and analysis skills. Proficiency in econometrics, applied modeling using tools such as Stata, Matlab, R, and/or Python.
* Highly valued: prior experience in climate change and environmental sustainability.
* Master's-level (or doctoral coursework) training in economic analysis, preferably with an undergraduate degree in Economics.
* At least 1 year of professional experience in economic analysis, ideally in macroeconomics, scenario analysis, forecasting, or sectoral analysis.
* English proficiency at B2-C1 level.
Depending on your background, you will participate in—and potentially lead—tasks and objectives within BBVA Research's climate change economics working group.
