HR Director – Supply Chain & Manufacturing Location: Europe (multi-site responsibility) A leading
European food manufacturing business
is seeking a
HR Director
to partner closely with Supply Chain and Operations leadership, driving workforce performance, transformation, and operational excellence across a complex, multi-site production network.
This is a critical leadership role within a fast-paced, labour-intensive environment, requiring a commercially minded HR executive with deep experience in industrial and food manufacturing settings.
Key Responsibilities
Act as a strategic HR partner to Supply Chain and Operations leadership across a multi-site food manufacturing footprint
Lead labour relations strategy as a core pillar of the role, owning union engagement, collective bargaining, and industrial relations across multiple plants and geographies
Ensure a stable, compliant, and high-performing industrial relations environment, proactively managing risk and enabling uninterrupted production
Drive people strategies that enhance operational performance, workforce productivity, and employee engagement within a manufacturing context
Lead organisational transformation initiatives, including site integration, restructuring, and operating model evolution across production facilities
Build leadership capability, succession pipelines, and frontline talent across manufacturing operations
Champion HR digitalisation and data-driven decision making to improve workforce efficiency and operational outcomes
Candidate Profile
Proven track record in senior HR leadership roles within the food manufacturing sector (or closely related FMCG manufacturing environments)
Deep experience partnering with supply chain and plant operations leaders in complex, multi-site organisations
Demonstrated success in:
Optimising large-scale manufacturing networks
Reducing attrition and improving workforce engagement in factory environments
Building internal talent pipelines and increasing internal mobility
Strong expertise in labour relations, with hands-on experience leading union negotiations and managing industrial relations in manufacturing settings
Experience delivering transformation at scale, including restructuring and HR digital initiatives
Commercially astute, with the ability to translate people strategy into tangible operational and financial outcomes
