Role Overview:
In this position, you will take the lead in defining and driving the strategic roadmap for our AI-driven speech-to-speech interpretation and captioning tool. Working within a cross-functional team of engineers, researchers, QA analysts, and designers, you will focus on customer discovery, market analysis, and strategic planning to deliver innovative products that enhance communication across languages.
You will be part of a technology department that is comprised of a successful and multidisciplinary group of professionals located across the globe – Barcelona, New York, Manchester, Bucharest and India.
Responsibilities:
Develop and execute the strategic vision and roadmap for the AI speech-to-speech translation and interpretation tool, aligning it with user needs and business goals
Lead the discovery process to understand market demands, user behaviors, and pain points through detailed market analysis, user research, insights, and stakeholder feedback
Collaborate with the cross-functional team to translate product requirements into detailed user stories and acceptance criteria focused on speech translation, NLP, STT (Speech-to-Text), and TTS (Text-to-Speech) technologies
Manage the entire product lifecycle from planning to release, ensuring strategic alignment at every phase
Identify opportunities to optimize the software development process, particularly for speech processing technologies, to accelerate innovation and product delivery
Foster continuous communication with the team to clarify strategic goals, answer questions, and remove roadblocks
Prioritize feature development and enhancements based on business objectives, client requirements, stakeholder input and market potential
Communicate roadmap changes and prioritization reasoning to stakeholders, maintaining alignment and managing expectations
Leverage web analytics and performance metrics to gauge the success of product features and guide product decisions for future development
Skills and Experience:
Minimum Bachelor's degree or its equivalent
3-5 years of experience in software development as a Product Manager, Product Owner, or similar role, with a strong emphasis on strategy and discovery in speech processing or language technologies such as NLP (Natural Language Processing), STT (Speech-to-Text), and TTS (Text-to-Speech)
A solid track record in managing the product management lifecycle and executing strategic initiatives using Agile methodologies
Experience using project management tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps Server, Confluence, Trello, etc.
Exceptional strategic communication skills: ability to articulate the strategic vision, manage stakeholder expectations, justify scope changes, and communicate technical information to business stakeholders in an easy-to-understand manner
Experience in telephony integrations (such as SIP) and leveraging telephony technologies for speech processing applications is a plus
Experience with real-time audio streaming protocols (such WebRTC, SRT, etc.) is a plus
Experience with live captioning technologies is a plus
Desired Skills and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in a field such as design, business, computer science or related field
Familiarity with web technologies such as HTML, XML, JavaScript
Experience with web analytics platforms, such as Google Analytics, Matomo, Localytics or similar
Experience working in a distributed team
Experience in the localization industry
