EC2 Accelerated Nitro is looking for a seasoned Manager of Software Development to lead a team of engineers with strategic business impact. Our roadmap is bursting with opportunity in solving intriguing challenges that drastically enrich the customer experience. In this key role, you will champion optimization and innovation of our EC2 platforms, ensuring peak performance, scalability and robust reliability. You will build a high-performance organization by creating vision for your team, and defining the technological roadmap through partnership with Principal Engineers, Product Managers and the engineering teams that operate the hardware and off-host software components, distributed in different locations and time‑zones. In this position, you will wear many hats, requiring a technical background in operating systems and software development, strong product planning and program management, operational excellence and excellent written and verbal communication skills that enable you to build trust with your leadership and your customers.

If you are a dynamic professional who thrives on innovation and meaningful impact, this role offers an exciting opportunity to drive strategic initiatives in a fast‑paced, technology‑focused environment. You bring proven experience managing complex projects, demonstrate natural ability to build partnerships across teams, and enjoy solving multifaceted technical challenges. You'll have the opportunity to shape important outcomes while working with advanced technologies and diverse stakeholders. If you’re energized by continuous learning, excel at juggling multiple priorities with agility, and are ready to grow in a dynamic environment that rewards initiative and creative problem‑solving, we want to hear from you.

Key Job Responsibilities

* Evaluate complex business and technical requirements, and communicate inherent risks and solutions to technical and non‑technical business owners.
* Work close with Product Managers and Principal Engineers to understand the bigger picture, motivating and challenging your team to reach new heights.
* Create vision for your team, planning focused on timely delivery, driving operational activities and on‑call rotation for your team.
* Build trust with your leadership and your customers through timely and succinct communication while staying on message with the technical details.
* Build a high‑performance organization, through hiring, mentoring, skill development and performance management.
* Influence other teams and leaders outside your organization, work hand‑in‑hand with Principal Engineers, diving deep into technical areas as needed, and coordinate with other teams working in the same space spread across the world.

A Day in the Life

You invest time in hiring the appropriate talent to make your team more effective at delivering new functionality that delights your customers. You operate the software of your team in production, anticipating problems, learning from mistakes, and ensuring customer workloads run without disruption. You drive the roadmap of your team and create long‑term vision. You work with other seasoned managers in the EC2 Accelerated Nitro organization joining efforts to strengthen engineering experience and making the organization more effective as a whole. You contribute and influence the overall roadmap of the organization.

About the Team

* Build the most feature‑rich virtualization technology in the cloud.
