The Regional Key Account Manager for the Madrid area will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring Affinity's commercial strategy for clients in the region. You will manage key accounts, build solid and long-term relationships to exploit the full development potential of the Petfood category, and maximize the sales of our brands.
We are looking for someone with experience in key account management, with drive and energy to exceed set objectives while acting as a Category Captain, leading the development of the Petfood category. This role requires strategic vision, strong interpersonal skills, a growth mindset, entrepreneurial spirit, and ownership.
What you will do
* Develop and execute account plans for each key client, aligned with the company's overall objectives.
* Negotiate commercial agreements, sales conditions, promotions, and marketing plans with key accounts, seeking mutual benefit and profitability.
* Monitor commercial KPIs (sell-in / sell-out, market share, assortment share, shelf space, promotional intensity) and identify opportunities for improvement.
* Manage full P&L of clients.
* Act as a partner to develop the category: Category Management, Perfect Store, JBPs.
* Establish and maintain solid, trusting relationships with key contacts within assigned accounts (buyers, category managers, marketing).
* Identify and explore new business opportunities within existing accounts to increase product penetration and range offered.
* Present new products, innovations, and strategies to key accounts to generate sales and add value.
* Collaborate with Marketing and Trade Marketing for promotional plans and POS activities.
* Develop sales forecasts and monitor their fulfillment.
* Coordinate with departments like Logistics, Finance, and Customer Service to ensure plan execution and satisfaction.
* Communicate key account needs to the organization.
What we are looking for
* Education: Bachelor's in Business, Marketing, Sales, or similar; postgraduate or Master's valued.
* Experience: Proven in key account management within FMCG, ideally 3-5 years in similar roles.
* Residence: Preferably Madrid/Central Region; open to Barcelona or other locations.
* Knowledge: FMCG channel in Spain, negotiating with large accounts, Trade Marketing, KPIs, Office tools.
* Key Competencies: Communication, negotiation, results-driven, entrepreneurial, leadership, strategic thinking, relationship building, proactive, organized, team-oriented.
* Languages: Native/bilingual Spanish, fluent English.
* Other: Willing to travel; B driving license.
