We are looking for an exceptional
Engineering Director
to lead multiple teams working on Large Language Models and advanced machine learning systems that directly power real-world products.
You will lead several engineering teams focused on model development, experimentation, and evaluation. You will shape technical strategy, influence product direction, and work closely with research, platform, and business stakeholders to deliver robust, production-ready ML solutions.
The Strategic Mission
* Team Leadership:
Manage and scale multiple engineering squads focused on model development and evaluation, fostering a culture of delivery excellence.
* Product Strategy:
Align ML initiatives with broader company goals, influencing decision-makers on modelling trends and data-driven product priorities.
* Cross-Functional Synergy:
Act as the vital link between Research, Platform, Marketing, and Leadership to ensure seamless model lifecycles and downstream application.
* Methodology & Governance:
Define best practices for model experimentation and evaluation to ensure results are scalable, reproducible, and ethically sound.
* Technical Oversight:
Make critical trade-off decisions regarding model complexity vs. efficiency and experimental vs. production-ready approaches.
* Mentorship:
Elevate the next generation of Engineering Managers and Tech Leads, supporting their technical depth and professional growth.
Candidate Profile
* Experience:
8+ years in Software Engineering, Data Science, or related domains, with at least 2 years in a formal leadership role managing high-performing technical teams.
* Education:
Master's degree (or equivalent industry experience) in Computer Science, Physics, Data Science, or a STEM discipline.
* AI/ML Depth:
Hands-on experience with
Large Language Models (LLMs)
and advanced architectures, including fine-tuning, benchmark design, and evaluation frameworks.
* Product Savvy:
A strong grasp of the product management lifecycle and the ability to deliver model-based products on time and within scope.
* Analytical Rigour:
A data-driven mindset with a keen eye for technical detail, particularly in measuring model accuracy, reliability, and throughput.
* Communication:
Exceptional command of English, with the ability to translate complex technical findings for non-technical stakeholders.
