The Role:
We are looking for a highly skilled Azure & Microsoft Fabric Infrastructure Engineer (Contract) with deep expertise in designing, deploying, and supporting cloud infrastructure for modern data platforms. This role places a strong emphasis on Microsoft Fabric and Azure-native services, requiring someone who can confidently build secure, scalable, and cost-efficient environments that enable advanced data engineering and analytics workloads.
Responsibilities
* Lead the deployment and ongoing management of Azure infrastructure components supporting Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Lake Storage, and related data services.
* Implement Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using ARM templates or Terraform to ensure consistent, repeatable deployments.
* Monitor and continually optimise Azure and Fabric environments for cost, performance, resilience, and scalability.
* Configure and manage security across Fabric and Azure, including licensing, Microsoft Entra ID, RBAC, access controls, and Private Endpoints.
* Support and enhance CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure and data platform deployments using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
* Provide advanced platform support, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis for Fabric and Azure infrastructure components.
Experience & Knowledge Required
* Extensive hands-on experience deploying, securing, and managing Azure infrastructure to support Microsoft Fabric and Azure-based data management platforms.
* Strong background in IaC using ARM templates or Terraform, with experience automating end-to-end infrastructure deployments.
* Proficiency in scripting and automation using PowerShell, HCL, and JSON.
* Solid understanding of Azure governance, identity, networking, and security best practices.
* Practical experience with DevOps methodologies and CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure and data workloads.
* Ability to work autonomously in a contract setting while delivering high-quality, production-ready solutions.
