**Context And Mission**
The researcher will join a dynamic research group within the Life Sciences department, which integrates independent senior scientists that work on various aspects of computational biology, ranging from bioinformatics for genomics and proteomics to computational biochemistry and text mining. The Researcher will work in a highly sophisticated HPC environment, will have access to systems and computational infrastructures, and will establish collaborations with experts in different areas.
**Key Duties**
- Establish and maintain collaborations with national and international researchers in both the public and private sectors in the area of healthcare and biomedical research.
- Lead the design and writing of competitive research projects within national and international funding calls.
- Participate in internal group meetings and other scientific discussions.
- Preparation and presentation of scientific articles. Lead selection procedures to maintain or expand the team working in the disease comorbidities research line.**Requirements**:
- Education
- PhD in computer science or bioinformatics (or equivalent).
- Essential Knowledge and Professional Experience
- Bioinformatics applied to precision medicine - Disease comorbidities.
- 3-5 years of experience writing and leading WPs/tasks in research projects in the computational biology area.
- Additional Knowledge and Professional Experience
- Fluent in spoken and written English
- Competences
- Good communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work both independently and within a team.
- Capacity to use new software, understand new methods, or follow new research lines.
**Conditions**
- The position will be located at BSC within the Life Sciences Department
- We offer a full-time contract (37.5h/week), a good working environment, a highly stimulating environment with state-of-the-art infrastructure, versátil working hours, extensive training plan, restaurant tickets, private health insurance, support to the relocation procedures
- Duration: Open-ended contract due to technical and scientific activities linked to the project and budget duration
- Holidays: 23 paid vacation days plus 24th and 31st of December per our collective agreement

**Development of the recruitment process**
The selection will be carried out through a competitive examination system ("Concurso-Oposición"). The recruitment process consists of two phases:
- **Curriculum Analysis**: Evaluation of previous experience and/or scientific history, degree, training, and other professional information relevant to the position. - **_40 points_**:
The recruitment panel will be composed of at least three people, ensuring at least 25% representation of women.
The panel will make a final decision, and all individuals who participated in the interview phase will receive feedback with details on the acceptance or rejection of their profile.
