CANDIDATE PROFILE
Key Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s + Master’s Degree in a technical or scientific field (e.g., Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or similar).
- Languages: Spanish and English: minimum level C1. A third language (minimum level B2) will be valued.
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of proven experience in areas or departments directly related to the position's core functions, including minimum of 5 years of experience in team management.
- Processes and technologies related to multifunctional materials.
- Team leadership.
- Experience in managing R&D;&I; projects.
- Experience in managing public grants.
- Expertise in budget management and contract negotiation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Their mission is to define, lead, and implement the strategy for their area of activity, managing its operations while ensuring the quality, effectiveness, and efficiency of the technological processes and equipment under their supervision. They are responsible for guaranteeing the achievement of the assigned technical and economic objectives.
The main functions include:
- Manage the Multifunctional Materials Directorate team, coordinating and supervising their participation in ongoing projects while fostering professional and competence development.
- Detect key trends in Multifunctional Materials technology by constantly analysing the latest technological advancements.
- Define the strategic lines of action in the Multifunctional Materials Directorate, as well as the strategy regarding investment and equipment needs.
- Define the Directorate’s Annual Activity Plan, including objectives and budget, while performing monitoring and evaluation.
- Generate innovative ideas and detect opportunities for both their Directorate and the rest of the Entity’s Directorates, identifying investment and equipment needs.
- Lead the business development of the directorate, managing offers sent to users and participating in the preparation of proposals.
- Establish and maintain external relations with users and/or partners, fostering the generation of new collaborations and technology transfer.
- Coordinate and plan technical work, guaranteeing the quality of projects and/or services, controlling the progress and degree of achievement of objectives and budget, up to their final evaluation, implementing corrective actions if necessary, and reporting results and deviations.
- Participate in the establishment of policies, procedures, and regulations to be followed in the Entity, forming part, if necessary, of decision‑making bodies.
- Disseminate, comply with, and ensure compliance with the protocols established for the Management and Quality Systems implemented in the organization, and the established information security policies and procedures, reporting incidents and suspicious behaviors.
- Disseminate, comply with, and enforce throughout the Entity the standards regarding Occupational Health and Safety and Risk Prevention, taking appropriate measures for their dissemination and awareness.
- Foster compliance with the work policies, systems, and regulations defined in the organization's management systems.
- Carry out any other complementary activity that corresponds to their scope of action and that is necessary for the proper functioning of the assigned Area/Unit.
