SourcePilot is the AI-native copilot for product engineering. Engineering complex physical products is still fundamentally a manual process. Requirements live in documents. Design decisions get made in isolation. Component choices are validated too late. Every iteration cycle is slower and riskier than it needs to be.
SourcePilot is building the intelligence layer for product engineering — a physics-grounded system modelling tool that connects specifications directly to design, components, and downstream tools. Teams use it to run product iterations, variants, and optimisations in a fraction of the time, with full traceability from requirement to eBOM.
We sit at the intersection of systems engineering and AI, in a market that has seen decades of point-tool investment — CAD, PLM, ERP — but almost no progress at the specification and decision-making layer that sits above them all. That is the layer we are building.
The Role
Frontend Product Engineer who understands the industrial world from the inside. You will own the end-to-end user experience of our platform — translating complex engineering workflows into intuitive, high-performance interfaces — while collaborating closely with customers to make sure what we ship actually solves real problems.
This is a product-oriented engineering role. You will have opinions about UX, write production code, and talk directly to the industrial clients who use what you build.
What You'll Do
- Own frontend development - design, build, and iterate on the UI and UX of our core product using modern web technologies (React / TypeScript).
- Translate domain knowledge into product - use your engineering background to understand what industrial users actually need, and turn that into features they love.
- Work across the stack - contribute to backend endpoints and data models when needed (Python); no infrastructure work required.
- Engage with customers - join client conversations, understand their workflows firsthand, and feed that insight directly back into the product roadmap.
- Shape the product - contribute ideas on features, flows, and interaction design. We expect engineers to have product instincts, not just execute tickets.
What We're Looking For
Technical
- Frontend development in React / TypeScript
- Clean UI/UX thinking — component design, data visualisation, responsive layouts
- Some backend exposure (REST/GraphQL APIs, databases, Python or JS)
- Comfortable reading technical documentation and engineering specs
Background & Mindset
- Degree and experience in Mechanical, Industrial, or Systems Engineering
- Genuine interest in industrial software/AI, manufacturing, or engineering workflows
- Product-minded: you spot friction before users report it
- Constantly optimising productivity with the latest AI tools
- Comfortable talking directly to technical clients and translating feedback into features
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with system modelling - MBSE, SysML v2
- Data visualisation for engineering or scientific data — rendering performance curves, tolerance bands, trade-off surfaces, or supplier comparison matrices in ways that are scannable rather than just accurate. xugodme
- Familiarity with CAD, PLM, ERP, or MES systems
- Prior work either at a B2B SaaS/deep-tech startup or at a large manufacturing company (such as Airbus, Siemens Gamesa, and the like).
