Iberia is one of the most active data centre markets in Europe right now, and the developers winning here are the ones with serious engineering leadership behind their pipeline.
We are partnering with a leading data centre developer on a priority search for an Engineering & Design Director to take full ownership of design and delivery across a hyperscale and colocation portfolio. This is a director level mandate with genuine autonomy, real influence, and a clear remit to shape the function as the business scales across Europe.
What you will own
End to end leadership across the project lifecycle:
Land assessment and site selection, with power already secured
Full data centre design, aligned to commercial strategy
Project budgets, programme and delivery milestones
Supplier selection and management across the lifecycle
Design package handover to construction, with ongoing support through the build
Commissioning and final handover to the client
What you bring
A proven track record of designing and delivering hyperscale and colocation data centres
Strong engineering foundations in electrical, mechanical or building services
Experience owning budgets, programmes and supplier ecosystems on large scale builds
Commercial mindset, with the credibility to influence finance, construction and executive stakeholders
European xpzdshu delivery experience, with Iberian market knowledge a strong advantage
Fluent English essential, Spanish a real plus given the Madrid base
