You will define, architect, and develop the core of our production and automation pipeline to enable Grip’s capability to create and deliver high-quality product images at unprecedented scale.You will lead graphics development projects, mentor colleagues, and provide technical solutions for artists and the ecosystem behind Grip. Collaborating with Development and Operations teams, you will ensure the pipeline operates efficiently.Automation is your passion, and you are eager to develop code. Your goal is to create an automated, state-of-the-art pipeline for visual results, with a deep understanding of Computer Graphics, Rendering, Modeling, Compositing, Workflows, and 3D content production at scale. You aim to combine your knowledge with automation driven by code, both inside and outside of 3D applications.What will you be doing?Collaborate with CTO and teams to define, develop, and operate the next version of our rendering technology, including creative tooling, pipeline, and end-user software.Guide technology choices and define the architecture of our platform.Work with Grip development and technical teams to identify shared approaches.Develop tools and automation with artists’ needs in mind.Build, test, and deploy pipeline updates regularly.Document and train artists on pipeline use and enhancements.Would be amazing if you have :
7+ years in Computer Graphics and Science (preferably with a Master’s or PhD) or 3+ years industry experience in a similar role.Proven leadership and coaching experience.Knowledge of OpenUSD and industry standards in PBR rendering, interchange formats.Practical software engineering and architecture skills.Experience in VFX or animation industries.Experience developing tools/plugins for Maya, 3DS Max, Houdini, Nuke.Knowledge of VRay, Cycles, Arnold.Strong scripting skills in Python, TypeScript, MaxScript, MEL, Blink.Experience with revision control systems.Deep understanding of industry-standard PBR definitions.Experience with Windows/Linux pipelines.Nice to have :
Knowledge of VFX Reference Platform.Color-management expertise (ACES, sRGB).Experience with Houdini, Katana, Omniverse, Unreal.Working at GripWe focus on developing technology to create beautiful images and videos.
