Ground Segment System Engineer – IRIS² Project

SpaceRISE
consortium leading the technical implementation of
the European Union’s flagship satellite constellation. Leveraging decades of experience in satellite communications, Hispasat plays a central role in delivering secure, reliable, and high-performance communications to the EU and its member states.
We are currently looking for a
Ground Segment System Engineer
to join this ambitious and strategic programme.
Your responsibilities will include : Participating in Ground Segment System Engineering activities, with a strong focus on satellite communications and multi-orbit constellations. Preparing key technical documentation, including specifications, architecture designs, detailed design documents, justification files, and interface control documents. Defining Ground Segment interfaces and supporting system verification and validation activities. Participating in technical reviews with subcontractors and customers throughout the entire project lifecycle.
What we’re looking for : Master’s Degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in Satellite Ground Segment projects. Proven experience interfacing with customers and subcontractors / suppliers. Background in institutional programmes and multidisciplinary teams. Solid knowledge of communication protocols and cybersecurity. Theoretical and practical experience in satellite communications and / or ground segment engineering. Familiarity with systems engineering methodologies applied to satellite or aerospace environments. Ability to maintain a system-level perspective and technical understanding. Proficiency in system engineering and requirements management tools. EU nationality and willingness to undergo EU Secret clearance. Fluent in English (written and spoken); additional European languages are a plus.
