Leioa HQ (Bizkaia, Spain)

As a
Senior Project Manager, you will oversee and ensure the successful delivery of a portfolio of high-stakes R&D&I projects in the space domain. You will be the key link between internal teams, external stakeholders, and institutional clients, guaranteeing structure, performance, and alignment across every phase of the project lifecycle.Your main responsibilities will include:
Leading and coordinating a portfolio of complex projects, meeting strict quality, cost, and timeline targets.Acting as the main contact for military and institutional clients, maintaining professional and effective communication.Ensuring projects are delivered on-time, within scope, and on budget.Designing detailed project plans for internal use and for project partners.Maintaining and following up on action lists to ensure timely execution.Managing project risks and proposing mitigation strategies.Monitoring progress and preparing status reports for senior management.Managing all project documentation:
deliverables, reports, meeting agendas, and minutes.Collaborating with technical, financial, and commercial departments to align project execution.Facilitating cross-functional collaboration among multidisciplinary teams.Managing changes in project scope, schedule, and cost.Supporting the engineering department in preparing technical reports.Organizing and leading meetings with clients, funding bodies, and key stakeholders.What will set you up for success?
Proven experience in complex environments:
You bring at least 5 years of experience managing technical or R&D projects, ideally in the aerospace, defense, or high-reliability sectors—where structure, quality and accountability are key.Strong multi-project coordination:
You’ve successfully handled multiple projects in parallel, aligning teams and timelines without losing control or clarity.Leadership and communication under pressure:
You’re capable of leading with confidence and assertiveness, knowing when to push back, and how to build trust through clear communication.Comfortable working with military and institutional clients:
You understand their processes, expectations, and standards—and know how to navigate their ecosystems with professionalism.Fluency in project management methodologies:
You are proficient with frameworks like PMI, Prince2, Agile, or hybrid approaches, and know when and how to apply them.Solid academic background:
You hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, or in Mechanical, Electrical, Telecommunications Engineering, Physics, Geoscience, or a related field.Preferred experience that will make you stand out
