As a Workplace, Health and Safety (WHS) Manager within the Amazon Fulfilment Centre (FC), you play a key role in driving safety improvements on-site and regionally. You will support your colleagues in maintaining high standards and fostering a culture of safety and inclusivity.The successful candidate will identify, coordinate, and implement safety, quality, and productivity improvements, collaborating with Operations Management teams to enhance the Fulfilment Centre's functionality and service levels.Customer Fulfilment (CF) is the core of Amazon, evolving from a small bookselling operation to a global team handling over 1.5 million orders daily. Your duties will include:
Managing the health and safety functions at the FC, including supervising staff to meet objectives.Engaging in collaborative health and safety projects across operations sites.Providing expert advice and guidance on health & safety matters to stakeholders within your responsibility.Reviewing and auditing health & safety management arrangements and continuously improving them.Developing strategies to organize work systems that reduce health & safety risks and recommending modifications to plant, machinery, and processes.Ensuring robust reporting systems for H&S statistics are in place.Providing management information and statistics related to your area.Supporting business change through effective change management in the fast-paced FC environment.Driving behavioral culture change programs across a large, multi-shift operation.Implementing and reviewing global safety policies to ensure compliance with local legislation.A day in the lifeThis role is highly varied and based at one of our sites, allowing you to contribute directly to our safety culture. You will oversee health and safety standards, enhance functionality and efficiency, manage your team, and implement improvements based on employee feedback and process opportunities.Your responsibilities include ensuring employee safety, managing satisfaction, supervising wellbeing and productivity, and fostering a safety-first culture.BASIC QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's degree or equivalent qualification aligned with the European Qualifications Framework (EQF)Education to degree level and qualification in Técnico Superior en Prevención de Riesgos Laborales, including specializations in Seguridad en el Trabajo, Higiene Industrial y Ergonomía & Psicosociología aplicada, compliant with Spanish Health and Safety regulationsRelevant experience managing a teamExperience complying with local Health and Safety legislationAdvanced proficiency in English and the local language, both verbal and writtenPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSExperience with Lean, 5S, and Kaizen methodologiesQualifications or experience in sustainabilityExperience communicating with diverse stakeholders, including peers and leadershipChartered membership of a Human Resources industry body (e.G., IOSH) to support people managementAmazon is an equal opportunities employer.
