Junior Buyer – Micro Ingredients (M/F/X) – Cargill
Join us in shaping animal nutrition by sourcing cost‑effective micro ingredients for our Western European plants (France, Spain, Netherlands, Great Britain, and Ireland). This role is part of Cargill’s animal nutrition and health business, driving better nutrition outcomes for animals worldwide.
Job Purpose and Impact
As a Buyer, you will manage the cost/quality ratio for a portfolio of micro ingredients (vitamins, amino acids, minerals, dairy, and specialty ingredients). You will source products that meet production site needs while aligning with Cargill’s group policies and local regulations.
Key Accountabilities
- Deploy and implement the Group purchasing strategy for the micro‑ingredients portfolio.
- Identify performance levers such as standardisation, volume pooling, competitive bidding, and sourcing improvements.
- Negotiate favourable economic conditions, including volume pooling, while considering technical and commercial objectives.
- Coordinate the onboarding of new sourcing options.
- Manage supplier relationships, enforce contractual terms, evaluate performance, implement corrective actions, and resolve disputes.
- Proactively propose new ingredients and suppliers to secure supply and improve competitiveness.
- Conduct market intelligence through internal and external networks.
- Provide market analysis and product usage cost expertise.
- Lead cross‑department meetings (quality, supply chain) for specific projects.
- Perform additional tasks as required by projects or business needs.
Minimum Qualifications
- Engineering degree or business school diploma (agricultural/agribusiness preferred) or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of two years’ experience in procurement or supply chain.
- Fluency in French and English for daily work in an international setting.
- Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of agri‑food markets.
- Experience with SAP.
