AI Legal Specialist
We are looking for a motivated AI Legal Specialist with a passion for tech and AI to join our Compliance Team. In this role, you will own legal and compliance workflows, guided by and working side‑by‑side with our Ethics and Compliance Officer, Maxwelle Sokol. This is an opportunity to develop expertise at the frontier of AI and e‑commerce regulation.
Key Responsibilities
- Own compliance with worldwide laws applicable to AI and e‑commerce platforms.
- Manage contracts and assessments required under data protection law, including GDPR (DPAs, TIAs).
- Prepare and maintain required compliance documentation, such as:
- Internal documentation under data protection, AI governance, consumer rights, and similar laws.
- EverAI’s AI systems inventory (in line with EU guidance).
- Risk assessments under applicable safety laws.
- Conduct product and feature reviews for consumer rights and data protection compliance.
- Handle day‑to‑day compliance tasks, including:
- Standard IP issues (e.g., DMCA notices, copycats).
- Contract reviews (NDAs, licenses).
- Legal terms updates (TOS, Privacy Notices, content policies).
- Track, research, and analyze relevant legal developments and their application to EverAI.
- Collaborate regularly with the Ethics & Compliance Officer for guidance and co‑development of recommendations.
- Note: Exposure to uncensored AI‑generated content including NSFW material may occur; proceed only if comfortable.
Qualifications
Hard Skills:
- Legal education (e.g., Master of Law, Juris Doctor, or recognized legal certification).
- 2‑6 years of experience as legal counsel or similar positions, with at least 2 years focused on contracts and data protection law.
- Ability to distill complex legal concepts into plain English.
- Interest in AI.
Soft Skills:
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, fluent in English.
- Goal‑oriented with ownership and commitment.
- Doer mindset with ability to balance execution, planning, and strategy.
- Humble, willing to learn, and open to feedback.
- Comfortable reviewing and discussing uncensored AI‑generated content and NSFW material.
Bonus Points:
- Full certification as an attorney or legal counsel.
- Previous experience in AI compliance.
- Fluency in additional languages.
