This position will ideally be based in Paris, Madrid, or London, but we will consider other locations where we have a presence.
We operate a hybrid schedule, allowing two remote workdays per week.
Role Purpose :
This role reports to the International Head of Energy & Construction and is responsible for driving our expanding Construction proposition and strategy across Everest International Insurance (EII), with a focus on underwriting profit and delivery.
Core Responsibilities :
* Lead strategic direction and profitable growth of the EII Construction Portfolio, developing underwriting guidelines and collaborating on strategies and growth opportunities in regional markets.
* Assist in integrating Everest Insurance International and North American Construction portfolios.
* Work with the Head of Risk Engineering to develop risk assessment criteria.
* Collaborate with the Actuarial team to develop and refine pricing tools for construction segments and monitor portfolio performance.
* Build and maintain relationships with key brokers and clients.
* Coordinate activities with Claims, Loss Control, and Accounting departments.
* Identify and implement process improvements for efficiency.
* Support the E&C Reinsurance Treaty structure and execution alongside the Head of Energy and Construction and Ceded Re.
Skills & Abilities :
To be effective, you should have :
* Held senior global underwriting roles with experience in industrial and civil infrastructure construction projects internationally.
* A technical background in both EAR and CAR.
* Understanding of related construction classes such as project cargo, liability, project PI, and surety, and the ability to represent Everest’s cross-class capabilities.
* Proven ability to navigate complex, matrixed organizations and collaborate across functions.
* Experience establishing and nurturing relationships with brokers, clients, and stakeholders.
* Ability to lead teams through change, fostering resilience and a high-performance environment.
* Risk-taking ability with consistently favorable outcomes.
* Strategic insight to identify opportunities and threats through trend analysis.
* Strong judgment and decision-making skills, based on logic and objectivity.
* Compliance expertise with internal, regulatory, and external standards.
