Overview
Leica Microsystems, a Danaher operating company, is seeking a Field Service Engineer to support customers in life sciences, diagnostics and biotechnology. The role is based in Madrid and fully remote. You will join the Iberia Service Team, report to the Iberia Service Manager, and contribute to growth beyond service by identifying improvements and acting as a change agent.
Responsibilities
* Delight customers through timely and competent response to their needs, with clear communication;
collaborate closely with the Service Team to ensure professional after-sales service in the region.
* Support Sales Representatives in installations and demo / exhibitions. Conduct service, repair and / or installation of products or IT solutions at customer sites, including electrical and mechanical testing, in accordance with maintenance contracts.
* Respond to customer support calls within an assigned territory. Diagnose system failures and determine the most cost-effective solution. Escalate complex issues to higher levels of technical support or quality reporting systems.
* Help the organization grow by delivering high-quality support for existing customers and by helping identify new customers and opportunities in the field.
Essential requirements
* Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or similar
* Fluent in English and Spanish
* Excellent Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
* Strong communication skills
* Ability to travel within the Spain Central Region and eventually to the rest of Iberia (up to 70% travel). Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record. Ability to lift, move or carry equipment and tools.

* Previous experience in handling repairs, calibrations, upgrades and allied tasks
* Networking, influencing, and communicating effectively across functions and at all levels
* Excellent visual, written and other communication skills
* Training and / or coaching experience
* Experience in maintaining, applying global processes
* Track record of delivering standardization, simplification and continuous improvement across key business areas
* Experience in working in a matrix organization, including building relationships remotely and cross-culturally
