Postdoctoral scientist, gut microbiome, host genetics and emergent phenotypesDeadline :
06 / 06 / 2025The InstituteThe Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG) is an international biomedical research institute based in Barcelona, Spain, with over 400 scientists from 44 countries. The CRG features an interdisciplinary team supported by advanced technologies and efficient administration.Job DescriptionWe are seeking a postdoctoral scientist interested in exploring the interactions between gut microbiome and host genetics, considering social transmission of microbes and their impact on emergent phenotypes such as gut metabolome and behavior. The candidate will analyze large-scale gut metagenomics data from genetically diverse laboratory rats, focusing on taxonomic and functional microbiome profiling and statistical analysis to identify genetic and microbiome influences on host traits.QualificationsProficiency in statistical analysis of large datasetsAbility to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary teamAbout the TeamThe Social and Host-Microbiome Systems lab studies the genetic basis of complex traits, including genes from the environment, social partners, and microbiota. Our research includes multi-cohort analyses of host-microbiome interactions and indirect genetic effects in social animals. The team combines expertise in quantitative genetics, GWAS, and metagenomics, primarily focusing on computational approaches with some laboratory work, in collaboration with core sequencing facilities and external partners.J-18808-Ljbffr
