RF Laboratory Engineer (Wireless & Telecommunications)

Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and hands‑on RF Laboratory Engineer to join our R&D; team in Abu Dhabi. The adecuado candidate will have a strong background in RF systems and electronics, with extensive lab experience supporting the development and validation of advanced wireless communication technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development, integration, and validation of both civilian and defense-related wireless communication systems
- Conduct detailed testing, fault isolation, and performance evaluation of electronic and RF products, including hands‑on rework such as soldering and circuit modifications
- Bring up and validate new hardware boards and subsystems, including setup of test environments, execution of tests, and debugging during development stages
- Perform functional verification of RF modules, analogue and digital circuits, power systems, filters, and related components
- Design and execute Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and participate in field validation activities
- Develop, document, and execute structured test plans and procedures; produce clear technical reports summarizing findings
- Design and implement test benches, including automated testing solutions where applicable
- Carry out PCB‑level debugging and root cause analysis for failures
- Maintain detailed logs, non‑conformance reports (NCRs), and documentation for boards, components, and systems
- Inspect PCBs for quality and compliance with standards
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience working in a laboratory or R&D; environment
- Strong practical expertise in electronics, including troubleshooting and hands‑on work with PCB assemblies
- Proven experience working with small component packages (e.g., 0402, 0201) for soldering and rework
- Solid understanding of communication protocols such as I²C, SPI, CAN Bus, and port expanders
- Proficiency with lab instruments such as oscilloscopes and logic analyzers
- Familiarity with battery management systems and ESD protection practices
- Experience operating RF test equipment, including spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and network analyzers (e.g., PNA‑X)Demonstrated capability in system‑level testing, debugging, and validation
- Experience in cellular communication standards (ETSI/3GPP) is a plus
- Knowledge of GNSS technologies (GPS, Galileo, GLONASS, BeiDou, etc.) is advantageous
- Experience with channel emulators (e.g., Keysight Propsim) for lab‑based field simulation is desirable
- Background in RF PCB design is considered beneficial
- Comfortable working in a Linux‑based environment
- Ability to independently plan, execute, and deliver complex technical tasks
- Proficient in English (both spoken and written, upper‑intermediate or higher)
