This is a hands-on backend engineering role with strong exposure to modern architecture and scalable system design.
You'll be expected to:
* Develop and maintain backend applications using Symfony 6.4 and PHP 8.1
* Contribute to scalable software solutions using Domain-Driven Design (DDD) and Hexagonal Architecture principles
* Build and support event-driven and serverless workflows using AWS Lambda and SNS/SQS
* Collaborate with product owners, engineers, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality technical solutions
* Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code aligned with engineering best practices
* Work with relational and NoSQL databases including MariaDB, Redis, MongoDB, and OpenSearch
* Develop APIs and backend services within Docker-based environments
* Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes
* Participate in code reviews and continuous improvement initiatives across software quality and performance
* Write unit and integration tests using PHPUnit and related testing tools
* Support automated testing efforts using Playwright across UI and REST APIs
* Document technical solutions clearly through written documentation and diagrams

Strong commercial experience with:
* Modern PHP development using Symfony 6.4 and PHP 8.1
* Software design principles, design patterns, and scalable backend architecture
* DDD (Domain-Driven Design) and Hexagonal Architecture concepts
* AWS services including Lambda, SNS, and SQS
* NodeJS v22
* OpenSearch implementations
* SQL and NoSQL databases including MariaDB, Redis, and MongoDB
* ORM systems such as Doctrine or Eloquent
* Docker and containerised development workflows
* CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes
* Unit and integration testing using PHPUnit
* Writing clean technical documentation and communicating solutions effectively
* Improving code quality, maintainability, and application performance
* Fluent Spanish communication skills (written and spoken)
Nice to Have
* Experience working within distributed systems or event-driven environments
* Exposure to serverless architectures
