AGFA Healthcare is looking for an IT Field Service Engineer PACS / RIS based in Madrid. The role delivers on‑site support to clients requiring continuous service, acting as the first point of contact for troubleshooting and escalations.
Responsibilities
System Administration & Operational Integrity
– Manage daily operation, configuration and stability of enterprise imaging applications (PACS, RIS, Voice Recognition, post‑processing tools). Keep systems highly available to support 24/7 diagnostic workflows.
Image Workflow & Data Management
– Monitor the lifecycle of DICOM data from acquisition to archival. Resolve data integrity issues and ensure the medical record accurately reflects clinical activity.
Technical Support & Incident Resolution
– Serve as the first line of defense for hardware, software, network and user faults. Provide timely resolution and participate in an on‑call rotation (nights, weekends, holidays).
User Training & Adoption
– Design and implement training programs for radiologists, technologists and physicians; act as preceptor/mentor to promote best practices.
Project Management & Process Improvement
– Collaborate on system upgrades, integrations, and new implementations. Conduct workflow analysis to enhance efficiency and outcomes.
Revenue Cycle & Administrative Compliance
– Perform charge capture reconciliation and generate statistical reports on utilization and compliance.
Vendor & Stakeholder Liaison
– Act as the main liaison between end‑users, IT infrastructure teams and third‑party vendors; coordinate maintenance schedules and support tickets.
Strategic Analysis & Documentation
– Maintain system documentation, analyze performance metrics and present deliverables to leadership for strategic decisions.
Ensuring contract fulfilment in terms of on‑site support (SLA); operational autonomy; cross‑functional liaison; closed contact with customer improvements; managing new version roll‑outs from an application perspective.
Qualifications
Degree:
IT Engineer or related field.
Experience:
3‑5 years managing complex customers and hospital workflow.
Languages:
Spanish and English.
Clinical Workflow Expertise:
Deep understanding of radiology and cardiology department processes from scheduling to reporting.
Healthcare Integration:
Knowledge of PACS integration with HIS, RIS and EHR.
Medical Terminology & Compliance:
Familiarity with CPT codes and EU patient data privacy regulations.
Project Methodology:
Familiar with planning, risk assessment and documentation for IT implementations.
Technical Skills:
DICOM 3.0, HL7 (FHIR a plus), enterprise imaging platforms, voice recognition, workstation and server troubleshooting.
Soft Skills:
Analytical problem‑solving, communication, initiative, service orientation, flexibility.
