Responsibilities A Day in the Life Lead and support European healthcare innovation projects, managing operations, finances, and proposal development within Medtronic’s INNOVA team. Collaborate across teams to align initiatives with strategic goals, identify market opportunities, and drive innovations toward real-world impact. Coordinate European Healthcare Innovation Projects: plan, execute, and deliver tasks, meetings, deliverables, and results within European projects. Financial Management: oversee the financial aspects of projects, ensuring compliance with economic requirements and alignment with Medtronic’s standards. Reporting and Documentation: prepare detailed reports for the European Commission, summarizing technical and financial results, dissemination activities, event outcomes, and project impact. Internal Collaboration & Innovation Engagement: work across Medtronic departments (Finance, Legal, Communication, General Management, Operating Units) and its innovation ecosystem to address project needs and identify challenges that drive portfolio-enhancing solutions. Scouting Strategy: participate in discovering, evaluating, showcasing, and collaborating with promising companies in the European healthcare startup ecosystem. Business Opportunity Identification: detect and evaluate innovation-based business opportunities that align with Medtronic’s strategic objectives. Proposal Development: identify new opportunities and lead the preparation of proposals aligned with the department’s and company’s strategic innovation priorities. Stakeholder & Team Collaboration: represent the team to internal and external stakeholders while working closely with diverse local and European teams to ensure effective communication and project success. Required Knowledge and Experience Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Biomedicine, Biomedical or Telecommunications Engineering, Economics, or a related field; Master’s degree in business or project management is a plus. Project Experience: proven experience managing European healthcare innovation projects, preferably within hospital or healthcare settings (H2020, Horizon Europe, IHI, EIT Health, etc.). Cross-Functional Collaboration: skilled in working across departments and with diverse stakeholders in complex, fast-paced environments. Organizational & Execution Skills: strong self-management, organizational abilities, and a results-driven mindset focused on high-quality delivery. Communication & Interpersonal Skills: excellent verbal and written communication skills. Innovation & Agile Thinking: demonstrated innovative mindset, familiarity with agile methodologies, and use of project management tools.
