The Institute of Chemical Research of Catalonia (ICIQ) is seeking a Corporate Communications Officer to cover a sick and maternity leave. ICIQ is committed to performing excellent research at the frontier of knowledge in the broad area of chemistry (Catalysis, Artificial Photosynthesis, Activation of Small Molecules, Photovoltaics, Functional Molecular Assemblies, and Chemical Biology), from either theoretical or experimental perspectives. Our mission is to lead, from the vantage point of molecular science, cross-strategies for solving major social and economic challenges, such as climate change and sustainable supply of energetic and raw materials, thereby contributing to the establishment of a knowledge-based economy and improving citizens’ quality of life in our influence area.
Responsibilities:
1. Design and implement multi-channel communication strategies, adapted to different audiences, events, and programmes, guaranteeing the presence of the ICIQ at national and international levels.
2. Coordinate internal and external communication actions, including announcements, dissemination campaigns, and newsletters, to support the Institute's activities.
3. Manage the development and maintenance of the Alumni website, intranet, and page, ensuring alignment with the Institute's global communication strategy.
4. Develop and execute a strategic content plan for social networks, maintaining an active, relevant, and attractive presence. Create multimedia content (videos, images, and other materials).
5. Establish and maintain relationships with media and journalists: coordinate interviews, write press releases, and manage media monitoring (clipping) to ensure positive and continuous coverage.
6. Create and coordinate the production of institutional materials such as the annual activity report, corporate presentations, brochures, and other informative materials for external and internal communications.
7. Provide support in drafting proposals to obtain financial support for strategic projects and communication activities.
8. Participate in the organization and communication support of institutional and internal events, ensuring adequate coverage before, during, and after each activity.
Requirements:
* Training in communication, marketing, or related disciplines.
* Previous experience of at least 4-6 years in a corporate communication, strategic communication, or public relations role.
* Excellent writing skills and ability to adapt the tone of communication according to the audience and channel.
* Proficiency in Catalan, Spanish, and English.
* Demonstrable experience in managing digital communication projects and knowledge of tools such as WordPress, MailChimp, and similar.
* Knowledge of brand strategy and ability to apply corporate storytelling.
* Knowledge of SEO, digital analytics, and graphic design tools such as Canva or Adobe Creative Suite is valued.
* Autonomy, proactivity, and skills to work in a team and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
* Ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
