Mission:
As Sales Director, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing the company’s international sales strategy. You will be responsible for leading and organizing the Sales Department, coaching and inspiring your team, and ensuring the achievement of ambitious sales and profitability objectives. Beyond performance, you will act as a key partner to management, overseeing strategic accounts, driving growth opportunities across markets, and bringing the experience and perspective required to guide the organization towards its long-term vision.
Functions and responsibilities:
- Lead and organize all aspects of the Sales Department, ensuring effective structure, processes, and performance.
- Coach, motivate, and manage the team, fostering collaboration, ambition, and professional development (in close coordination with HR).
- Manage and control the budget and sales forecasts, including costs associated with wine promotion and commercial activities.
- Oversee and approve the commission, incentive, and bonus schemes, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
- Supervise all sales management systems (Microsoft Dynamics…) ensuring data accuracy, reporting quality, and transparency.
- Monitor and report on floor stock information for bottled products (including bin ends, minimum inventory levels, and general stock instructions).
- Personally manage a portfolio of key international clients.
- Act as a strategic business partner to the leadership team, identifying growth opportunities, supporting decision-making, and contributing to the company’s international expansion.
Candidate Requirements:
- At least 5 years of experience in senior sales management roles, within the consumer goods or wine & spirits business.
- Proven ability to negotiate and build long-term relationships with key accounts, wholesalers, or retailers.
- Experience in the wine sector would be a strong plus, or at least a strong interest in wines.
- Demonstrated leadership and people management skills, with high emotional intelligence: able to inspire, listen to, and support colleagues.
- Ambitious, robust, and resilient professional, able to handle challenges with perspective and determination.
- Growth mindset: able to identify and capture new opportunities, adapting to changing markets.
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills, with a pragmatic, results-driven approach.
- International profile: fluent in English and Spanish;
an additional language would be valuable.
- Willingness to be based in Eastern Spain, with regular international travel.
