We are seeking a Technical Sales Engineer to join our remote, international team.
Job Description
We seek a Technical Sales Engineer with strong communication skills and cloud industry understanding to support our growth. Responsibilities include presales activities, prospect qualification, product demos, RFQ/RFP responses, PoC ownership, and product evaluations. The ideal candidate is a motivated self-starter, curious about technological possibilities, problem-solver, and customer-focused.
You will collaborate across product development, sales, marketing, and customer relations, understanding customer needs, observing behaviors, and anticipating future requirements for product development.
Responsibilities
* Prepare presentations, demos, use cases, solutions, and discussions about OpenNebula.
* Present and demonstrate OpenNebula at events.
* Engage customers through solution positioning and RFQ/RFP responses, emphasizing features and business value.
* Conduct discovery sessions to understand current cloud deployments, challenges, and future goals.
* Qualify business and technical fit between prospects and OpenNebula offerings.
* Design and oversee PoCs with OpenNebula.
* Stay updated on industry developments and competitors.
* Develop and nurture relationships with key accounts.
Experience Required
* 3+ years as a Sales Engineer, Systems Engineer, Presales Engineer, or similar.
* 3+ years in IT/cloud environments.
* Experience responding to RFPs/RFIs and managing PoCs.
* Experience with global customers.
* Excellent English communication and interpersonal skills.
* Customer service orientation.
* Analytical skills to understand client demands.
* Bachelor’s/Master’s in CS, IT, or Engineering.
* Advanced Linux administration (RHEL/AlmaLinux, Ubuntu/Debian).
* Experience with virtualization (KVM, LXC, libvirt/QEMU, VMware).
* Technical writing skills.
* Experience with other cloud management platforms preferred.
