We are seeking a proactive and experienced Deputy Data Protection Officer to safeguard stakeholder data while ensuring compliance with data privacy and protection regulations. The Deputy Data Protection Officer will collaborate with, and on behalf of, the Group Data Protection Office as we spearhead our Data Protection Strategy and improve our management of sensitive information across the organization.
What will you do?
As part of the management team of the Group Data Protection Office, working alongside our Group Data Protection Officer, you will:
* Coordinate with supervisory authorities and regulators on Data Protection issues on behalf of the company.
* Serve as the main contact for all stakeholders regarding Individual Rights Requests and Data Subject Requests.
* Ensure the operationalization of Binding Corporate Rules and Data Privacy Policies within the company.
* Develop and update internal data protection policies, guidelines, and procedures in collaboration with key stakeholders.
* Ensure that other company policies comply with data protection standards and regulations.
* Lead the implementation and management of the company’s Data Protection strategy; evaluate and enhance the existing Data Protection Framework, identifying and mitigating risks.
* Contribute as a consultative advisor to Group Legal Counsel during data breaches, ensuring adherence to data protection regulations.
* Work with Internal Audit to conduct regular audits and risk assessments, maturing the organization’s Data Protection operationalization.
* Utilize knowledge and experience in responsibilities such as Individual Rights Requests, Data Breaches, Compliance Monitoring, and Training to digitize Data Protection Office activities.
* Maintain comprehensive records of all data processing activities and stakeholder consents.
* Continuously improve the organization's maturity in Data Privacy & Protection by:
o Designing and delivering scaled, digital training for employees involved in data handling.
o Advising leadership on data protection matters and fostering a culture of compliance.
o Driving the virtual, global community of Data Protection leaders at various organizational levels.
o Keeping updated on changes in data protection laws and regulations globally and locally.
o Contributing to the strategic, tactical, and operational design of the Data Protection Office.
What qualifications will make you successful for this role?
* Minimum 15 years of professional experience, with at least 10 years in data protection compliance or a related field.
* Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Law, Information Security, Computer Science, IT, or a related discipline.
* Professional certification in data protection (e.g., CIPP, CIPM, CIPT).
* Deep knowledge of data protection laws and practices.
* Proven project management skills, capable of managing multiple initiatives.
* Ability to digitize manual activities into scaled processes.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly.
* Strong influence and persuasion skills at the executive level.
* Attention to detail and confidentiality.
* Familiarity with digital and information security best practices.
* Desire to continually expand knowledge through industry associations and peer learning.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Exceptional interpersonal skills for building positive cross-departmental relationships.
