WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR: Java Developer – GraphDB & Semantic Web | European Institutions
We are currently seeking two highly motivated Java Developers to support our client’s projects at a prestigious European Institution in Luxembourg (Kirchberg). The role involves working with graph databases and semantic web technologies, driving innovation in data representation, retrieval, and UI integration.
Positions available:
* 1 Junior Developer (1–4 years of experience) – full-time onsite
* 1 Senior Developer – flexible: onsite, near-site (within 2h travel), or remote (minimum 20% onsite)
Responsibilities include designing and developing scalable Java applications with GraphDB, writing SPARQL queries, maintaining ETL processes, developing UI filters and data layers, managing environments and CI/CD pipelines, contributing to architecture decisions, and supporting front-end styling and stakeholder collaboration.
Qualifications:
* Strong Java development experience
* Hands-on with SPARQL, RDF, GraphDB (Ontotext, Blazegraph, etc.)
* Knowledge of semantic web concepts (OWL, SHACL) is a plus
* Proficiency with Elastic Search is advantageous
* Ability to work independently and proactively
* Understanding of data flow between front-end and back-end
* Experience with CI/CD tools (Git, Jenkins)
* Experience within EU institutions is a plus
* Project management or familiarity with institutional workflows is a bonus
Additional info: Contract type is permanent or freelance, starting September/October 2025, located in Luxembourg (Kirchberg). Work mode varies by role, with relocation required if beyond 2 hours travel for full on-site positions.
