This global success is made possible by the commitment and talent of more than 46,000 employees worldwide. /ppbr/ppAs bManager Shipping EMEA (Spain) /b, you are responsible for the end-to-end management of maritime transport activities within the region, including freight contracting, voyage execution, laytime management, and regional freight market intelligence. The role supports third-party (3P) commercial activities and regional supply chain operations by ensuring reliable and cost-effective maritime transport aligned with business requirements. The position reports to the Global Head of Shipping and has direct impact on regional freight cost, service reliability, and operational performance. /ppbr/ppbMain Responsibilities /b /pulliLead and develop a regional team (2–3 direct reports). /liliLead regional freight contracting (spot and period charters). /liliManage voyage execution, operational performance, and cost control. /liliOversee laytime calculations, demurrage claims, and dispute resolution. /liliProvide regional freight market intelligence to support commercial and operational decisions. /liliSupport 3P commercial activities through transport structuring and execution. /liliWork closely with regional Supply Chain and key stakeholders, including Traders, Supply Chain VCs, and Procurement VCs. /liliParticipate in the Global Shipping budgeting process; prepare and manage the regional freight budget. /liliEnsure compliance with global shipping policies and governance standards. /liliDrive cost optimization and operational discipline within the region. /liliLead and develop a regional team (2–3 direct reports). /liliTravel to operations, key ports, and industry forums as required. /liliApprove regional freight fixtures within delegated authority limits. /liliNegotiate charter party terms in line with established commercial parameters. /liliEscalate strategic contracting decisions to the Global Head of Shipping as required. /li /ul pbAcademic Background /b /pulliBachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Maritime Studies, Engineering, Economics or related field required. /liliMaster’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain or related discipline preferred. /li /ulpbr/ppbLanguages /b /pulliSpanish and English advanced professional proficiency required. /liliAdditional languages considered an advantage. /li /ulpbr/ppbExperience /b /pp5 years of experience in: /pulliDrybulk maritime transportation, freight contracting, voyage management, laytime and demurrage handling. /liliAmple knowledge of the drybulk market, its fundamentals and players. /liliDirect international negotiation experience with shipowners and brokers. /liliExperience managing freight budgets and operating in volatile freight environments required. /li /ulpbr/ppbSkills Competencies /b /pulliStrong knowledge of charter party terms and maritime contracts. /liliUnderstanding of freight market dynamics and rate structures. /liliProficiency in budgeting and cost control. /liliAdvanced Excel and ability to analyze operational and financial data. /liliExperience with shipping systems or ERP platforms preferred. /liliStrong negotiation capability. /liliClear and structured communication. /liliAbility to operate under pressure and make sound decisions. /liliEffective stakeholder management. /liliLeadership capability and team. /li /ulpbr/ppbCemex Diversity and Inclusion Commitment /b /ppCemex is committed to providing an ethical, diverse, and inclusive workplace.
