Department seeks qualified candidate(s) to teach undergraduate courses in ASL‑English Interpreting or other classes identified as needed to fulfill educational goals of current students.

Instructor Responsibility
\n
Temporary faculty members must adhere to university and system‑wide policies per Academic Policy Manual 306, paragraph 2.
\n
Responsibilities include preparing, delivering, conducting, proctoring, and grading lectures, office hours, homework assignments, quizzes, class projects, and midterm and final exams. All classes must be offered and meet as scheduled throughout the semester in the assigned mode (asynchronous, synchronous, in‑person, or hybrid). Availability to begin teaching on short notice is required.

Temporary Faculty Pool
\n
Positions are filled as needed based on enrollment and funding. The pool remains for two academic terms; candidates wishing to remain beyond that must reapply.

Fall 2026: August 19, 2026 – December 22, 2026
\n
Spring 2027: January 15, 2027 – May 26, 2027

Compensation
\n
Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience within the CSU Salary Schedule (Class Code 2358). For temporary faculty with a Master’s degree, the range is $5,507–$6,677 per month when teaching full time (15 WTUs). Starting salaries are usually near the minimum and are adjusted based on WTUs assigned.

Required Qualifications

Master’s degree in ASL Interpreting or closely related field.
\n
Preferred Qualifications
\n
Demonstrated commitment to teaching excellence at the undergraduate level, evidenced by prior teaching experience and evaluations.
\n
Successful undergraduate teaching experience.
\n
Minimum of 3 years as an ASL‑English Interpreter and RID or comparable certification.
\n
