Summary
This role will help drive the execution of Novartis' ambition to turn data and digital into a strategic asset to drive actionable insights across the organization. This ambition is a key pillar in Novartis' broader digital transformation to become a focused medicines company powered by data and digital.
The role assumes accountability for the design within the respective work package, as well as the build and deployment of LDC in-scope processes and data based on user requirements defined in collaboration with domain pillars and the E2E data team. It involves working with architecture teams to identify new technologies and explore emerging possibilities.
About the Role
Major Accountabilities:
* Accountable for the LDC Solution Design in the responsible area, based on business requirements, adhering to Novartis architectural standards, performance, quality, and security principles.
* Responsible for making design decisions on complex issues in collaboration with functional GPOs and LDC Pillars, providing detailed rationale and understanding implications for the integrated solution.
* Promotes standardization while respecting regulatory and control requirements (e.g., NFCM-control, P3, TPRM, GxP).
* Supports the development, execution, and operation of solutions.
* Works with IT experts to ensure integrated solutions, connecting with experts in connected work packages, data & analytics, and applying continuous improvement principles.
* Ensures project work is delivered on time, within budget, and meets quality standards, following release calendars.
* Ensures solutions are peer-reviewed, documented, and approved by domain pillars and business functions.
* Verifies that solution testing meets quality standards.
* Champions standardization by establishing consistent design and development processes for cost-effective delivery.
* Ensures compliance with all relevant security and regulatory policies (e.g., FDA, Novartis IGM framework).
* Maintains close collaboration with pillar teams and country reference groups, conducting regular meetings and workshops, and incorporating operational feedback.
Qualifications
* University degree or equivalent.
* Strong expertise in commercial contracting processes involving transactional customers (wholesalers, hospitals, pharmacies) across the contract lifecycle in the pharmaceutical industry, including:
* Defining and developing contract (front end) and revenue (back end) architectures.
* Defining contract & claims types, including maintenance, disputes, and deduction management.
* Defining condition types related to condition contracts (on/off invoice, inclusion/exclusion rules).
* Creating contract and revenue lifecycle reports.
* Super user experience in Vistex contract, pricing, and revenue management modules, or in S4/HANA Sales & Distribution (SD).
* Minimum of 3 years' experience in country and global roles.
* Experience supporting large programs over 5+ years, potentially involving budgets of over $500 million USD.
