Position Overview :
As a Marine Sales Specialist at Volvo Penta Spain, you will be responsible for driving sales of marine engines and propulsion systems, with main focus on commercial marine applications. You will develop and maintain strong relationships with shipyards, fleet operators, naval architects, dealers and other key stakeholders to identify business opportunities, provide tailored solutions and technical application support.
Key Responsibilities :
* Develop and implement sales strategies to grow the marine business.
* Identify and engage with new and existing customers, including shipbuilders, operators, and partners.
* Advise on application engineering and installation approval with new hull designs, provide support during the build and evaluate the end product, organize trials and commissioning.
* Manage the entire sales process, from lead generation and proposal development to contract negotiation and after-sales support coordination.
* Collaborate with internal technical, marketing, and service teams to ensure customer satisfaction and seamless project execution.
* Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to proactively adjust sales strategies.
* Represent Volvo Penta at trade shows, industry events, and customer visits.
Requirements :
* Technical background (Naval Architecture or educated to Degree level or equivalent in Engineering).
* Minimum of 5 years’ experience in sales within the marine industry, preferably in commercial marine applications.
* Strong understanding of marine engines, propulsion systems, and commercial vessel operations. Knowledge of modern diesel engines, control systems and electrification
* Excellent Negotiation and communication skills- The ability to gain the trust of other parties, to negotiate skillfully in tough situations with both internal and external groups without damaging relationships, having a good sense of timing
* Proven track record in business development and achieving sales targets.
* Fluent in English, other languages like French will be positively considered.
* Willingness to travel extensively within Spain and occasionally abroad.
