Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated Applied Healthcare AI Research Fellow to join our European AI research team. This role is designed for an individual who will act as the primary on-ground scientific and operational liaison for multi-institutional AI research initiatives focused on respiratory and thoracic diseases.
The fellow will work at the intersection of artificial intelligence, clinical research, and healthcare implementation, collaborating closely with academic universities, radiologists, pulmonologists, oncologists, and hospital research teams across Europe. The role combines academic rigor, clinical engagement, and hands-on operational execution of real-world and prospective research studies.
This position is ideally suited for a candidate who enjoys field-based research, interdisciplinary collaboration, and translating AI research into real-world clinical workflows.
Roles and Responsibilities
1. Clinical & Academic Collaboration
* Act as the scientific representative at partner European universities and research centres .
* Engage periodically with radiologists, pulmonologists, thoracic surgeons, oncologists, and research coordinators .
* Help in Operational aspects and coordination with technical teams.
* Support onboarding of new academic and clinical collaborators into AI-enabled research projects.
2. Study Operations & Implementation
* Support operational aspects of multi-site research studies, including:
* Site initiation and coordination
* Workflow alignment between clinical teams and technical teams
* Study monitoring and documentation support
* Assist with implementation of AI tools within clinical research settings, ensuring adherence to protocol and ethical standards.
* Coordinate logistics for site visits, investigator meetings, and training sessions.
3. Research & Scientific Responsibilities
* Support design, review, and execution of AI-driven clinical research studies ,
* Assist in drafting and reviewing:
* Study protocols
* Institutional Review Board (IRB)/Ethics Committee submissions
* Support preparation of scientific manuscripts, abstracts, posters, and conference submissions .
4. Travel & Field Engagement
* Travel frequently across European countries to:
* Visit collaborating sites
* Attend in-person meetings with clinical investigators
* Support study initiation and follow-up activities
* Participate in regional and international scientific meetings and workshops when required.
Skills & Expertise
* Prior experience working with or alongside clinicians (radiologists, pulmonologists, oncologists etc).
* Familiarity with:
* Clinical research methodologies
* IRB / Ethics Committee processes
* Clinical trial or observational study operations
* Knowledge of medical imaging and AI applications in healthcare is a strong advantage.
* Ability to bridge technical, clinical, and operational teams.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills in English (additional European languages are an advantage).
Eligibility & Mobility
* Candidate must be based in European Union and eligible to travel freely within Europe
* Willingness and capability to travel frequently as part of the role is essential.

Qualification:
* Masters or PhD (ongoing or completed) in relevant field/s

* Demonstrated ability to understand and discuss clinical concepts with healthcare professionals .
