About the Position
An international logistics company is expanding its operations in Spain and is looking for an Ocean Freight Operator (Turkish Speaker) to join its growing team in Barcelona.
This role will play a key part in the coordination of international freight operations, ensuring smooth communication between customers, shipping lines, suppliers, and internal stakeholders. The successful candidate will contribute to the establishment and growth of the companys new Spanish branch while delivering excellent operational service.
Your Main Responsibilities
* Manage end-to-end import and export operations, primarily within maritime freight.
* Coordinate bookings and shipments with shipping lines, agents, and logistics partners.
* Act as the main point of contact for customers, providing operational support and shipment updates.
* Prepare, review, and manage all required shipping and customs documentation.
* Monitor shipments and proactively resolve operational issues or delays.
* Support the development and implementation of operational processes within the new Barcelona office.
Key Requirements
* Minimum 3 years of experience in an operational role within a freight forwarder, shipping line, NVOCC, or international logistics company.
* Strong understanding of international import/export processes and maritime transportation.
* Experience managing shipments from booking through final delivery.
* Fluent Spanish and English are mandatory.
* Knowledge of the Spanish logistics and freight forwarding market.
* Strong organizational skills, customer orientation, and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Nice to Have
* Professional proficiency in Turkish.
* Previous experience in maritime freight operations.
* Knowledge of shipping lines, carriers, and logistics service providers operating in Spain.
* Experience working in international and multicultural environments.
* Previous involvement in start-up operations or branch office expansion projects.
