Overview A leading company in the maritime industry, renowned for its excellence in providing high-quality shipping and logistics services, is looking for a Technical Manager to join their team in Tarragona.
Key Responsibilities Oversee and supervise a team of Technical Superintendents, ensuring timely maintenance and repair work on the fleet.
Ensure compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements, including class recommendations and safety standards.
Manage special projects, including dry dock specifications, mobilizations, and in-water repairs.
Coordinate Annual Management Reviews and Master’s Reviews, assessing policies and procedures for continuous improvement.
Implement Stop Work Authority (SWA) when safety is at risk and report hazards through the Safety Observation Card (SOC) or Defect Reporting System.
Foster strong relationships with internal teams, customers, shipyard management, and suppliers.
Assist in managing budgets and cost-saving initiatives across technical operations.
Key Requirements Mechanical Engineering Degree or equivalent. Merchant Navy experience is essential (no equivalents accepted).
5+ years experience as a Technical Superintendent with commercial vessels over 500 GRT, ideally harbor tugs, AHTS, or offshore vessels.
Strong knowledge of ISM, ISPS, Flag State, and Classification Society procedures.
Ability to travel internationally at short notice.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook; knowledge of PowerPoint and Project is a plus.
Strong people management skills, preferably gained in a multicultural environment.
