Overview
International real estate group is expanding its finance team in Valencia and is looking for an Accountant to support the accounting activities of its European entities. This role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic, multicultural environment and contribute to the smooth running of financial operations.
Responsibilities
* Handle day-to-day bookkeeping, including bank reconciliations, accruals, intercompany reconciliations, and subledger checks.
* Reconcile various accounts and follow up on outstanding items.
* Verify classification and recording of accounts payable data.
* Ensure accounts payable ledgers are accurate and complete, with all bills and payments properly recorded.
* Investigate discrepancies through vendor account reconciliations and monthly statements.
* Support invoice payment processes by coordinating with team members and ensuring workflows remain efficient.
* Understand and manage expense accounts and cost centres.
* Ensure compliance with accounts payable regulations, including VAT.
* Contribute to improving systems and procedures to strengthen consistency and controls.
* Monitor tax documentation, payments, and refunds to ensure timely execution.
* Assist the investment accounting team with recurring and ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting.
* Participate in ad-hoc finance projects as needed.
Qualifications
* 2–3 years of professional experience in accounting or a similar area.
* Solid knowledge of bookkeeping practices and accounts payable processes.
* Strong data entry abilities and confidence working with numbers.
* Proficiency in spreadsheets and MS Office tools.
* Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
* Well-developed numerical, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.
* Strong organizational skills and ability to manage priorities effectively.
* Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
