Middleware Chapter Overview
The Middleware Chapter focuses on promoting best practices, sharing knowledge, and establishing standards and frameworks for system integration. By providing guidance on APIs, event-driven architectures, and secure data flows, the chapter ensures consistency and efficiency in how systems communicate. This approach helps create a solid foundation for scalable, reliable technology solutions across the organization while fostering collaboration and continuous improvement among teams.
Role and Responsibilities
The candidate will be allocated to the iPaaS integration platform, working with diverse cloud and on-premise systems. They will be involved in shaping integration strategies for various internal systems, ensuring efficient data flow and seamless API management.
Required Profile
* At least a bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field, with over 25 years of application and data integration experience.
* Strong knowledge of API connection methods, including different ways systems communicate over the internet, and familiarity with tools for managing and securing these connections (e.g., Azure Logic Apps, Service Bus).
* Practical experience with Microsoft Azure Cloud, understanding how to utilize its tools and resources.
* Hands-on experience with building and connecting APIs, along with exposure to cloud-based tools that facilitate system integration.
* Good understanding of coding languages with the ability to build and troubleshoot code when needed.
* Excellent English communication skills, both spoken and written.
* Availability to travel approximately 10% of the time.
* Experience with integrating technology systems, especially using Microsoft Azure services such as Logic Apps and Azure Functions.
* Familiarity with how different systems work together, including data processing, multitasking, and event management methods.
* Understanding of industry standards for secure data sharing, ensuring information is safely and consistently managed.
* Experience with tools for managing code and automating workflows, such as Azure DevOps and GitHub.
* Proficiency with testing and documenting system connections using tools like Postman and Swagger.
* Ability to work effectively with diverse, global teams, adapting to various cultures and languages.
* Quick learner of new technologies and standards, with the ability to keep up with industry changes.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging with both technical experts and end-users.
* Highly organized and self-motivated, able to manage tasks independently and proactively.
* Experience with Agile or Scrum project methodologies that focus on collaboration and incremental delivery.

The candidate will design, implement, and maintain integration solutions for various cloud and on-premise systems. They will manage and optimize APIs, ensuring the platform is secure, scalable, and aligned with business goals. Collaboration with technical and business teams to define integration requirements and participate in building and operating the iPaaS systems will also be key responsibilities.
In the Chapter:
Members focus on collaboration, knowledge sharing, and establishing best practices. Activities include refining integration standards, reviewing middleware frameworks, and ensuring system alignment with organizational goals. The chapter also conducts technical workshops, discusses industry trends, addresses cross-team challenges related to APIs, event-driven architectures, and data flows, and shares solutions to improve overall integration strategies.
