Offer Description

The selected person will be primarily involved in Objective 1: Modelling and data analysis of compact binary coalescence (CBC) gravitational wave signals, contributing to the development of synergies between gravitational wave modelling and data analysis. This includes work within the context of our contributions to the LIGO-Virgo-KAGRA collaborations, as well as ongoing preparations for the Einstein Telescope (ET) and LISA mission.
This position will play a key role in strengthening our research team and enhancing our ability to respond flexibly to the challenges and discoveries brought about by new observational data.

The gravitational physics group at UIB conducts research on a wide range of topics, including gravitational wave data analysis, waveform modeling, and numerical relativity simulations. The group has access to its own high-performance computing cluster, as well as to external resources such as the MareNostrum supercomputer and the LIGO Data Grid.
The group is led by Alicia Sintes and Sascha Husa, together with faculty members David Keitel, Xisco Jiménez-Forteza, Antoni Ramos, Pep Covas, and Jaume Carot, along with several postdoctoral researchers and PhD students. The group is an active member of leading international collaborations.
