A position of FPGA Development Engineer is open in Airbus CRISA (Airbus Defense & Space) in Tres Cantos (Madrid area) for different Space business: Launchers, Earth Exploration (Copernicus), Space Exploration (Artemis), Commercial (Telecommunications Satellites). This is an opportunity to join a diverse and dynamic Technical Team focused on shaping the future through innovation, state of the art product consolidation and continuous performance improvement. The candidate will be part of the Digital team and will be supported by the relevant Skill Manager. Functionally, the candidate is also part of the Project, with the main mission of developing/designing electronic units for flight equipment to meet project schedule, cost and quality requirements. In day-to-day work, the candidate reports to the Project Manager; within each project, tasks are coordinated by a Technical Responsible who reports to the Project Manager. The engineer's tasks comprise the complete development of an electronic equipment from requirements analysis to final delivery of the flight model after acceptance. Responsibilities
Develop FPGA designs for space applications as part of a high performance, experienced engineering team. Define, implement and verify designs implemented in RTL VHDL in areas such as Launchers, Power management subsystems, Attitude control subsystems, Satellite electric propulsion, Image sensors management, data acquisition and processing, Instrument control units, On board computing, Antenna electronics, Communications. Analyze and synthesize high-level requirements; generate FPGA specifications and design architecture. Implement design in RTL VHDL and perform functional verification; handle physical implementation (synthesis and layout) and their verification; prepare design documentation. Communicate with the customer regarding the FPGA design. High degree in engineering with strong background in Microelectronics. At least 3 years of experience in FPGA designs. Very good knowledge in VHDL; Verilog and SystemVerilog are a plus. Understanding of physical and timing constraints in synthesis and layout; Static Timing Analysis. Knowledge of FPGA System on Chip; High level synthesis. Scripting languages: Python, TCL, Bash. Programming languages: C/C++ a plus. FPGA design tools from Synopsys, Mentor, Actel/Microchip, Xilinx. Emerging processor technology: RISC-V. Knowledge of HW prototyping solutions.
