NoOffer DescriptionIMDEA Energy is opening a Predoctoral Researcher Position for the Electrochemical Processes Unit, seeking talented candidates to develop innovative energy storage technologies, focusing on covalent organic frameworks as electrode materials in alkali-ion batteries and redox flow batteries.This contract is funded by the Community of Madrid through the "César Nombela 2024" programme (COFFEE project - Ref. 2024-T1 / ECO-31517).Tasks DescriptionDesign and synthesize new redox-active molecules for redox-active COFs.Formulate and electrochemically characterize COF-based electrodes or redox targets.Utilize advanced characterization techniques such as SEM, XRD, XPS, N2 Adsorption Isotherms, NMR, Raman, FTIR, and others.Assemble and test electrochemical cells (coin and flow cells).Disseminate research results through publications and conferences.Supervise Master’s or undergraduate projects.QualificationsOfficial Master in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Physics, Industrial Engineering, Materials Engineering, or similar (completed within last 4 years).Bachelor in Physics, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or similar.Specific RequirementsExperience in synthesizing organic molecules / COFs.Experience with lithium-ion and / or flow batteries.Experience in assembling cells (coin or flow cells).Experience with electrochemical techniques.Experience in materials characterization and analytical techniques.Scientific publication record.Additional InformationThe contract includes benefits of the Spanish Public Health and Social Security System.Duration :
