Paulino Bernabé Model 15, Spruce Top Concert-Quality Classical Guitar
The Guitar
The Paulino Bernabé Model 15 is a fully professional concert-quality classical guitar, made in Madrid, Spain. It features the volume, projection, and sound quality to demonstrate its excellence. The Model 15 is handcrafted in Paulino Bernabé Jr’s Madrid workshop, collaborating with skilled luthiers using traditional tools and techniques.
Tonally: This guitar offers Paulino’s signature clear, rounded, and polished singing trebles, well balanced against profound yet well-defined basses. It provides excellent projection and musicality, with superb separation, intonation, and evenness across notes. The guitar is very pleasant to handle and sounds distinctly open.
The back and sides are made of solid Indian rosewood, with an ebony fingerboard and a top of prime quality German Spruce. It has a Nitro lacquer finish and is fitted with Schaller tuners. The guitar is in as-new condition, with proof of purchase from 2019 (first owner), official PB certificates, a spare set of PB strings, and two spare string clips included.
Bernabé guitars are played worldwide in major venues. For example, Thibaut Garcia, winner of the 2016 Guitar Foundation of America (GFA) competition, has played a Bernabé for years. Eduardo Costa has performed Bach on a Model 15. Bernabé Sr., one of Spain’s most renowned luthiers, founded his first workshop in 1969, working with his son Paulino Jr. from the 1980s. Prior to that, Bernabé Sr. worked at José Ramirez III’s workshop in the 1950s and 1960s.
