Infrastructure Debt Investment Professional
Country: Spain – Based in Madrid (MADRID)
Santander Alternative Investments (SAI) is looking for an Infrastructure Debt Investment Professional for its Targeted Enhanced-Yield Infra Debt - TEIDE fund. SAI is a growing business focused on infrastructure, private credit and real estate, with a goal of developing funds where we have a clear competitive advantage to generate alpha for our institutional and UHNWI clients.
Responsibilities
- Manage investee assets, coordinating performance monitoring and providing reporting to investment and valuation committees.
- Oversee post‑investment transactional issues such as waivers, restructuring, negotiations, extensions and ensure ongoing monitoring of portfolio assets, including performance analysis, covenant compliance, ESG reporting and financial performance tracking.
- Originate, execute and manage general infrastructure and energy private credit high‑yield investments.
- Independently source and analyse investment opportunities, structure and negotiate transactions, conduct comprehensive financial, ESG and legal reviews, and manage investments including presenting proposals to the investment committee.
- Collaborate with senior management to implement the fund’s strategy, ensuring disciplined risk management and sustainable value creation.
- Maintain strong relationships with sponsors, advisors, counterparties and institutional clients.
- Coordinate and assess existing investment performance, maintaining active dialogue on performance measurement and ESG with investee businesses.
- Coordinate transactional post‑entry issues such as waivers, extensions, restructuring.
- Originate and preliminarily evaluate investment opportunities in the infrastructure and energy high‑yield private credit markets, leveraging relationships with companies, advisors, banks and asset managers across geographies.
- Prepare structuring and conduct detailed credit, business model and risk analyses of transactions, and draft screening materials, investment committee memoranda and related documentation.
- Conduct comprehensive due diligence, including financial modelling, legal review, ESG assessments, and analysis of technical, regulatory and market risks, ensuring robust investment recommendations.
- Perform detailed cash flow modelling and cash extraction analysis to evaluate debt service capacity, downside scenarios and overall investment resilience.
- Prepare materials for the investment committee and drive execution of approved transactions, leading negotiations of term sheets, financing agreements and ancillary legal documentation.
- Implement and monitor investment committee decisions across daily fund activities, ensuring timely and accurate execution.
- Involve in fund and asset performance reporting to investors, prepare regular updates, participate in investor communications and contribute to NAV calculation and review processes.
- Support fundraising activity for the fund and collaborate with senior management in development.
