Process & Application Engineer – Separation Technology
We are looking for a proactive and technically driven Process & Application Engineer – Separation Technology to support our customers and sales teams by evaluating, testing, and optimizing separation processes. You will combine hands‑on testing, process scaling, market exploration, and technical consulting, becoming a key internal expert in separation technology.
Your responsibilities and tasks
* Technical Analysis & Feasibility: Analyze product samples sent by Sales and Service Managers to determine feasibility of separating liquid or solid phases using separator technologies.
* Perform lab‑scale tests to validate the most effective technical approach for each customer case.
* On‑Site Testing & Process Optimization: Organize and execute tests at customer sites to scale up laboratory processes and optimize, troubleshoot, and improve existing customer processes involving separation technology.
* Advise customers on how to upgrade and enhance their operations using separators, guiding their technical decision‑making.
* Innovation, Trends & Market Exploration: Stay up to date on industry trends to identify new applications where separation technology can provide value. Collaborate with public and private research centers.
* Product & Application Evaluation: Evaluate new GEA Westfalia products to determine their potential application in customer processes and internal projects. Provide technical support to Sales Managers.
* Contribute to the introduction of separation technology into new markets or customer segments and make autonomous technical decisions regarding separation configurations.
Your profile and qualifications
* Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical, Industrial, or Food Engineering.
* Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in Research, Development, Innovation, or similar technical roles.
* Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with industrial machinery and production processes; knowledge of separator technology is a strong advantage; experience with SAP is valued.
* Skills: Proficiency in IT tools (Word, Excel, Explorer, Outlook). Native Spanish & Advanced English (written and spoken). Strong communication and teamwork skills. Dynamic, creative, and solution‑oriented mindset. High level of autonomy in technical decision‑making. Full availability to travel.
